DE KOU IN SRI LANKA

Hello everybody, especially our friend of last year’s trip to Vietnam named Chuck
We arrived in Nuwara Eliaya by a very luxary express train and were taken by taxi to our hotel: The Travene. We both did’ nt like this place at all, not only because it was a very cold place, 2000m above sealevel, but the staff really liked to play games with us in a very unpleasant way. Well we arranged our own tuk tukdriver again, and he took us all over the place and surroundings. We first visited a beautiful park, Victoria. Then we went to see a teafactory. To get there, we passed a really amazing road, from where we could see a lot of terraces with all kinds of different vegatables. When we got higher and higher the landscape changed to teaplantages. Though we saw these for the third time, it’s still beautifull with those Sri Lankan Tamilgirls in colourful outfits picking the tealeaves of the small trees. We visited the factory, where the leaves were dried
and fermented. We drank our fourth cup of tea (and perhaps the last) this year because we are frequent coffeedrinkers. After we tuk tukked back to the city of Nuware Eliya, we had a good meal and made up for another cold night. Untill next time. Greetz from Theo and Lida.
